- organising symposiums and giving presentations at domestic and international conferences
- participation in and development of teaching materials for projects such as:

- Orthopaedic and traumatology training organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Medan (Indonesia) and various hospitals on Sumatra.
- Providing expert opinion and support to IGT doctors in the field.
Scientific research and publications
The working group encourages scientific research into, among other things, antibiotic-containing filling materials for the treatment of osteomyelitis.

In addition to projects primarily focused on knowledge transfer (Malawi, Indonesia, Uganda), members of the WOO-NOV are also active in providing curative care in countries such as Peru, the Philippines, Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, and Congo-Brazzaville. One of the members is also a member of the executive committee of World Orthopaedic Concern. The WOO-NOV receives financial and logistical support from the Overseas Orthopaedics Foundation.
