About NSGH

The association for Global Health professionals committed to equal access to care, in the Netherlands and worldwide. We connect people and organisations through science, education, advocacy and a strong network.

History

The Netherlands Society for Global Health (NSGH) was founded in 1907 and has been committed to improving healthcare in low- and middle-income countries since its inception. The association supports and stimulates scientific research, provides education and promotes the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the field of tropical medicine and international health. In addition, the NSGH contributes to strengthening Dutch healthcare in a global context.

Our mission

The NSGH is committed to fair, inclusive and accessible healthcare – in the Netherlands and worldwide. We offer a platform for professionals working in the broad field of global health, promote research and education, and actively participate in the social debate where human rights and access to quality care are under pressure.

Our vision

We believe in a world where health is not a privilege, but a fundamental right for everyone. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing and equal partnerships, we are working on sustainable solutions to global health challenges.

Pillars

Our work is organised around four interconnected pillars: Platform & Networks, Advocacy, Science and Education – which together also form the basis of our cooperation agenda. Depending on the topic, type of activity and expertise required, each organisation will take the lead where most appropriate and ensure a coordinated, complementary and coherent approach to achieving our goals.

Activities

Our collaboration

The Netherlands' Society for Global Health is part of a triangle of organisations, together with the "Training Institute International Health and Tropical Medicine" and the "Knowledge Centre Global Health". All are active in the field of global health, in the Netherlands and worldwide.
