Physician assistants International Health and Tropical Medicine

TROY

TROIE is the physician assistant association for doctors of International Health and Tropical Medicine (AIG) in training.

Association for AIG in Training
TROIE is the association for junior doctors in training to become doctors in international healthcare (AIG). AIG training is provided by the IGT training institute.

Our priorities

  • Advocacy: We are committed to the interests of junior doctors.
  • Quality assurance: We are actively working to ensure the quality of training.
  • Connection: TROIE connects junior doctors and AIGs with each other and with the wider network of international healthcare.

How do we realise our goals?

Members of the TROIE board participate in meetings of the NSGH board and the Concilium IGT (CIGT). This is how we influence important decisions around training and contribute to the future of the profession.

We also organise various activities to promote knowledge sharing and networking. Examples include:  Global Health Inspiration Day, additional course days, social events such as get-togethers and alumni days.

TROIE also plays an active role in progressive projects, such as:

  • Consult Online: A platform connecting doctors abroad with specialists in the Netherlands for advice on medical issues.
  • Linking Doctors: In collaboration with the Global Health Knowledge Centre (KCGH), we have developed a platform that maps and connects all players within the Global Health field - such as (para)medics, researchers and institutions.
  • ‘Into the World’: a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of international healthcare.
