Medical Human Rights Network

IFHHRO

IFHHRO promotes health-related human rights, including the right to health. Our focus is on the important role of health professionals.

About us Mission & Vision

The mission of IFHHRO | Medical Human Rights Network is to mobilise healthcare providers for the progressive realisation of health-related human rights worldwide. Our vision is that everyone can fully enjoy health-related human rights at all times.

Strategies

IFHHRO supports the mobilisation of healthcare professionals for human rights through: 1) advocacy via social media, and 2) information, education and communication activities. We facilitate the sharing of experiences and concerns about human rights among healthcare professionals to promote mutual support. Specific projects aimed at promoting health-related human rights focus on the role of healthcare professionals.

Activities:

  • Facilitating information and communication exchanges between health professionals via social media
  • Providing mutual support and exposing threats to health professionals working on human rights
  • Providing online training and education
  • Developing positions
  • Carrying out projects on the implementation of the right to health

History

IFHHRO (formerly known as the International Federation of Health and Human Rights Organisations) began in 1989 as an informal network of health and human rights organisations.
