Journal of Medicine for the Netherlands East Indies

The GNTI was published by the Vereeniging ter bevordering van geneeskundige wetenschappen in Nederlandsch-Indië from 1852 to 1942. On 24 February 1942, the 82nd volume was abruptly aborted at the 8th issue due to the Japanese invasion of the Dutch East Indies.

The scanning of the 90,000 pages of the GTNI was carried out by the Royal Library, with funding from Metamorfoze, a conservation programme for the preservation of Dutch paper heritage.

The GTNI was then made accessible by year and episode and searchable by title words, author and other metadata via a web-based search generator designed by Niels Molenaar; the NSGH history working group obtained external funding for this.
