Chair of the Concilium for International Healthcare (CIG) of the Netherlands’ Society for Global Health (NSGH)

The CIG is looking for a new chairperson!

As the current chair’s term of office is coming to an end, the CIG is seeking a new chair to take up the post from January 2027. A handover period may be arranged by mutual agreement.

Are you someone with a strong interest in global health and the International Health Care (AIG) degree programme, and do you see it as an exciting challenge to contribute to the programme’s academic direction as chair of a group comprising various stakeholders, then please send an email before 1 December 2026 to cig@nsgh.nl, and please let us know what your motivation and background are.

Background information

The International Healthcare Council (CIG) is the permanent advisory body to the
NSGH for the training programme for Medical Information Specialists and for other matters relating to the
safeguarding, promoting and developing the AIG-KNMG profile. The CIG acts as
as the NSGH’s central education committee.

The Concilium is a policy-preparatory and advisory body that draws on its professional expertise in the field of international healthcare. It comprises representatives from the NSGH and from the specialist groups responsible for the substantive content of the programme. These representatives are delegated from the relevant NSGH working groups, which bring together subject group members and trainers. The chairperson presides over the Concilium and, in collaboration with the secretary, is primarily responsible for setting the substantive direction and, on that basis, for preparing and streamlining the plenary meetings. In 2030, the AIG training programme will be due for renewal. The chair will also contribute to this, in collaboration with a committee appointed for that purpose. Under the chair’s leadership, the CIG also supervises the correct implementation of the
content of the training plan.

The CIG meets twice a year (in the spring and autumn, often alternating between online and in-person meetings). In addition, the CIG organises a trainers’ meeting twice a year. The role is unpaid.
